OBIEE 11g: Email sent by an Agent to an Email Address with an Apostrophe is Rejected by the Mail Server

Information in this document applies to any platform.
An Agent is configured to deliver content to several Email Addresses (specified via the "Add Email Recipient" option in the Recipients tab).
The Agent runs successfully and does not fail, but the user whose address contains an apostrophe (for example: xxxx.Oemail@example.com) never receives the email from the Agent.
The user does receive email successfully at this same email address from other senders (for example: an email sent from a gmail account).
The following is observed in the Agent log file:-
