Age Bands are assigned incorrectly (Doc ID 2252745.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 13, 2019

Applies to:

Business Intelligence Applications Consumer - Version 11.1.1.8.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

For few employees in the system, the Age Bands are being calculated incorrectly. They all seem to be off by one. For example of someone whose fact record shows AGE_IN_MONTHS of 719, yet the person is put into the band starting at 720.

Scenario I: In the below examples, each person is put into the wrong age band. The first one turned 40 in August and should be in the 40-55 Years band. The second one turned 55 in August and should be in the 55-60 Years age band. The general standard is that a number that is on the border of a band goes into the higher band.

EMPL_ID BIRTH_DATE AGE BAND in OBIA for 2016 AGE BAND should be
XXX 21-AUG-1976 30-40 Years 40-55 Years
YYY 28-AUG-1961 40-55 Years 55-60 Years

Scenario II: And, in some cases, the age band is assigned to the next interval as explained in the below example.

EMPL_ID BIRTH_DATE AGE BAND in OBIA for 2013 AGE BAND should be
ZZZ 10-JAN-1954 >=60 Years 55-60 Years
