EPM Configuration Disappearing Automatically While Configuring HFM Web Components (Doc ID 2257181.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 08, 2017

Applies to:

Hyperion Financial Management - Version 11.1.2.1.000 to 11.1.2.3.702 [Release 11.1]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When running the "configure DCOM" step in Financial Management product in EPM System Configurator, the EPM System Configurator suddenly exits with no error message displayed. In the log file configtool.log (which may be in c:\documents and settings\Administrator\logs\configtool\configtool.log because it hasn't been copied to the correct location before System Configurator crashed) errors similar to the following are shown:

[ERROR] [EPMCFG-02151] [oracle.EPMCFG] [tid: 17] [ecid: 0000In2q57T5yW95zfO5yW1Czeqt000008,0] [SRC_CLASS: com.hyperion.hit.fusion.FusionComponent] oracleComponent is null. Component will not be provisioned.

As a test, it is possible to run EPM System Configurator by entering in Windows command line startconfigtool.bat > debugconfigtool.log. This will allow to write the output to a log file debugconfigtool.log. In the log file following errors may appear:

# A fatal error has been detected by the Java Runtime Environment:
#
# EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xc0000005) at pc=0x7813f880, pid=2612, tid=936

#
# An error report file with more information is saved as:
# C:\oracle\Middleware\EPMSystem11R1\common\config\11.1.2.0\hs_err_pid2612.log

In the hs_err_pid2612.log file further error details are written:
