Can the Oracle Database Privileges Be Removed After Configuration (Doc ID 2305276.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 03, 2019

Applies to:

Hyperion Essbase - Version 11.1.2.4.000 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

There is a required setting called "DROP ANY SYNONYM" in the EPM Installation/Deployment Guide when using an Oracle Database.

As the database repository and settings would be owned by the Oracle hyperion application only, would like to know if the Oracle database privileges be removed after Configuration. This is because DROP SYNONYM will allow it to drop Hyperion objects only, but granting DROP ANY SYNONYM will allow it to drop objects in any other schema and not excluding system level objects.
