RTD 11g: How To Store password in RTD (Doc ID 2319924.1)

Goal

User wants to customize RTD to make a web service call to get data from an external system instead of creating datasource to the table. User wants to understand the best way to store the credentials for calling the service. Is there a way to store the password in a file and have RTD read it from a file or store it in somewhere so that it can be updated in the enterprise manager?

User doesn't want to store the passwords in the database or hard code it. Also store the credentials safely and update it for each environment.
