OBIEE 12c: Unable to Login to /analytics by Using IP Address in A Kerberos SSO Environment (Doc ID 2322943.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 31, 2021

Applies to:

Business Intelligence Suite Enterprise Edition - Version 12.2.1.2.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

You configured Kerberos SSO environment by following the steps in How To Find Documentation on Using OBIEE 12c with Active Directory, Kerberos and SSO <Note:2186968.1>, and you have already confirmed that you can login to OBIEE (/analytics) successfully by using Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN).  For example, http://hostname.domain:9502/analytics.

But when you try to use IP address (http://XX.XXX.XX.XX:9502/analytics), it always turns out to "Error 401--Unauthorized". You tried to run "setspn -A HTTP/<IP Address> <WebLogicServerAccount>" to add SPN (service principal name) in AD Server, but it doesn't work.

Changes

 Configured Kerberos SSO.
