OBIEE12c: Previously Selected Prompt Values May Not Be Refreshed When using SQL Results Based on a Presentation Variable (Doc ID 2334503.1)

Symptoms

- Dashboard Prompts is created hierarchic structure:

• Company
  
  • Organization
    
    • Department

- The first level of choices list of values are inserted into Presentation Variable (ex. Test_Org).
- And the next level of Choice List Values of dashboard prompt is defined as SQL RESULTS using presentation variable:

- The third level of choices list of values are "Limit values By" All Prompts.

Now, you select one of the values (say Genmind Corp) on the top level of dashboard prompt. Then the next level of dashboard prompt will narrow down. The list of values for Organizations is within Genmind Corp. When you select one of the organizations, Franchises Org. for instance, Department list of values are narrow down within the Franchises Org. This is expected.

The issue is here when you change the value on the top level of dashboard prompt (say "Genmind Corp" to "Stockplus Inc"); the list of values on the second level of dashboard prompt (here example Organization) does not change to organizations with in "Stockplus Inc".

In other words, previously selected prompt values of second level may not be refreshed even when the top level dashboard prompt value has changed.
