Persistent load performance issues when loading procurement facts
An incremental load that runs every night and takes significant time to complete.
The load is hitting a problem consistently when the Procurement facts are being loaded in the SIL stage.
The INSERT into I$ tables seems to run without ending (over 10+ hrs) although the amount of data is loading in the incremental load is about 750k records.
A couple of observations from monitoring load:
- A significant amount of database time is spent on lock requests, which is appearing to cause a lot of contention (enq: UL - contention).
- There seem to be a significant amount of database logons (about 6 per second), which are expensive.
