OBIEE 12c: Administration Tool May Crash When Deleting Certain Columns After Copy and Paste (Doc ID 2383330.1)

Symptoms

Administration Tool may crash when saving the repository after copy and paste columns and delete source columns from Presentation Table properties.

Issue could be reproduced with the following steps with sample sales lite repository:

  1. Open .rpd with OracleBI Administration Tool.

  2. In presentation layer, right click and "Copy" multiple columns of presentation table.
    Ex)
    - Per Name Qtr
    - Per Name Half
    - Per Name Year

  3. Right click and "Paste" these columns to the same table that copied from.

  4. In presentation layer, double click the table (in this case, Time) properties and navigate to columns tab.
    select the source columns of copied items (in this case, Per Name Qtr, Per Name Half, and Per Name Year) and then delete it.



  5. Press OK.
    That may lead to Administration Tool Crash:
