Reports in which references are made to other reports will return #REF each reference to other reports. It can be remedied by opening all of those referenced reports prior to opening the report with the references. This however creates a huge challenge for the users, since they have to know all dependencies between all the reports, and in some cases it requires opening “supporting” reports in a certain sequence, since these themselves have dependencies.

Furthermore, having a large number of reports open severely reduces the performance of report rendering.
