OBIEE12c: How to Grant Job Manager Permissions to a Role (Doc ID 2412508.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 20, 2023

Applies to:

Business Intelligence Server Enterprise Edition - Version 12.2.1.3.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

By default only users who are part of the BIServiceAdministrator role are able to use the Job Manager.

If a user who is not a member of this role tries to connect to the Scheduler using the Job Manager this popup appears:

Error during open
Authentication failed for the user <username>.

And on the OBISCH component log (<DOMAIN_HOME>/servers/obisch1/logs/nqscheduler.log) this message is seen:

[<timestamp>] [OBISCH] [ERROR:1] [] [] [ecid: ] [sik: service1] [tid: 85eba700] [nQSError: 68022] Not authorized to manage jobs. [[
file: server/NQSScheduler/SchedulerGateway/Src/SchedulerRPC.cpp; line: 1137
]]

Which permissions are needed to allow users belonging to a role to work with the Job Manager?
