When Connecting to HFM Application Through Hyperion SmartView Error: 'Failed to instantiate Planning Offline Provider -%x' (Doc ID 2430278.1)

Symptoms

When opening an Excel SmartView file that connects to HFM application, user gets an error message.


Error

'Failed to instantiate Planning Offline Provider -%x'.

Under the Details tab on the Error message pop-up box, it says 'Failed to instantiate Planning Offline Provider - 80040154'.

Clicking 'OK' on the message does not get rid of this error, it just stays on the screen. User will have to finally kill the Excel process.
