OBIEE 12c: The Calculating Result May Be Wrong if You Leave the Column Aggregation Rule as Default in An Analysis (Doc ID 2475851.1)

Symptoms

The aggregating result might be wrong if your analysis and repository design meets all following conditions:

  1. Creating a "Derived from existing columns using an expression" logical column which has dimension and measure columns along with Case When statement.
    In this case, the Aggregation tab is grayed out as following, so you cannot specify the aggregation rule explicitly.

    Example:



  2. Creating an analysis with a column referring above logical column.

  3. Leaving the "Aggregation Rule" as "Default" in this analysis.
