OBIEE Report Prompt Values Not Passed To 'Sub Query Report' (Doc ID 2517187.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 15, 2019

Applies to:

Business Intelligence Suite Enterprise Edition - Version and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

On : version, Analytics the Report Prompt Values not passed to 'Sub Query Report'.

Several reports utilize a filter based on results of another analysis. There may also be report level prompts set on the main reports.
Once the report is executed we expect the prompt values to pass both to the main report as well as the report that we have used in our sub-query (the filter report).

This feature was working fine in 11g, but has stopped working in 12c (  Contents migrated from 11g to 12c using migration tool.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Create Report with Filters
2. Create Child reports with Filters
3. Navigation no longer keeps results from previous prompts

If the 'Protect Filter' option is enabled, this is the expected behavior.

However, without this checkbox checked, it should override the SQL with prompted value.
