Last updated on AUGUST 16, 2019

Applies to:

Business Intelligence Server Enterprise Edition - Version 12.2.1.4.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

OBIEE is upgraded from 12.2.1.2.0 to 12.2.1.4.0.

On the upgraded 12.2.1.4.0 rpd, Consistency check is reporting Error number 38118 on some LTS objects. This wasn't an issue in 12.2.1.2.0.

For example:
Join type between OBJECT1 and OBJECT2 below is Left Outer

Post upgrade, the Consistency Check (File-> Check Global Consistency) reports following error:
Error number 38118 Join type in table source OBJECT1 of logical table OBJECT2 does not match the join.

This join type changes from Left Outer to Inner when Auto Fix (File -> Check Global Consistency -> Auto-Fix) is run.
See below, post upgrade:

It causes the analysis/dashboards to show incorrect and unexpected results.
