OBIEE 12c: Rows May Be Missing in a Pivot Table View When Using Pivot Table Prompts Total (Doc ID 2569394.1)

Symptoms

On OBIEE 12c:

Rows may be missing in a pivot table view when using the pivot table prompt total.

This symptoms may be observed when all of the following conditions are true:


For example, this issue can be reproduced with Sample Sales Lite subject area.
1. Create an analysis on the "Sample Sales Lite" subject area.
2. In the Criteria tab, add following columns:
   - Time.Caledar Date
   - Orders.Order Type
   - Offices.Company
   - Base Facts.Billed Quantity
3. In the Filters pane, add following filters:
   - Calendar Date is equal to / is in  01/26/2008; 01/29/2008
   - Company is equal to / is in  Tescare Ltd.
4. In the Results tab, add and edit the pivot table view.
5. In the Layout pane, arrange columns to the drop targets as follows :
   Pivot Table Prompts
   - Offices.Company
   - Time.Caledar Date
   Rows
   - Orders.Order Type
   Measures
   - Base Facts.Billed Quantity
5. Click the Totals button for Offices.Company column and select 'Before' or 'At the beginning'.
6. Display the results.

Expected Result :


7. Change "Company" page edge from "Tescare Ltd. Total" to another value and then change back to "Tescare Ltd. Total"; the table will be displayed as expected.
