Hyperion Planning: How is the Text Data Aggregated in an Application (Doc ID 2692691.1)

Last updated on MARCH 29, 2024

Hyperion Planning - Version and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Planning application has some account members for which data type is tagged as "Text". When data aggregation is done, value of these account members does not roll up at parent level.

For Example:

Sample_Account is a text type account. When text values were inserted for L0 members like Jan, Feb and Mar, after saving data, it did not roll up at parent level i.e Q1. Looking at below example, Q1 remains blank and it is not holding any aggregated data

Planning Data:

     Q1   Jan   Feb   Mar
Sample_Account             Text1    Text2    Text3

However, when corresponding data intersection is being refreshed from Essbase database of Planning application, following data was retrieved where base level data seems to be rolling up at parent level correctly.

Essbase Data:

    Q1   Jan       Feb      Mar
Sample_Account     33       10       11     12

Account member is tagged as "Text" data type.
