Last updated on JUNE 01, 2024

Applies to:

Hyperion Financial Management - Version 11.1.2.4.206 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

In a distributed environment with multi-node servers, HFM intermittently stops responding. Logged errors include: "An unknown error occurred in an ODBC object" and "Unable to access availability database '<database name>' because the database replica is not in the PRIMARY or SECONDARY role. Connections to an availability database is permitted only when the database replica is in the PRIMARY or SECONDARY role. Try the operation again later.".

Even after the cluster has recovered, the HFM application still cannot be opened. A restart of HFM services is required to continue using HFM.
