Hyperion Planning: Can the Repository Creation Utility (RCU) be Run on an Oracle Container Database (CDB) or Pluggable Databases (PDB) (Doc ID 2714813.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 13, 2020

Applies to:

Hyperion Planning - Version 11.2.1.0.000 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Can the Repository Creation Utility (RCU) be Run on an Oracle Container Database (CDB) or Pluggable Databases (PDB) when installing and configuring EPM 11.2.x.

In the installation guide, it is suggested to set database parameters as below:

ALTER SYSTEM SET processes=2000 SCOPE=SPFILE;

ALTER SYSTEM SET OPEN_CURSORS=5000 SCOPE=SPFILE;

ALTER SYSTEM SET SESSION_CACHED_CURSORS=200 SCOPE=SPFILE;

ALTER SYSTEM SET SESSIONS=2000 SCOPE=SPFILE;

But since Pluggable Databases (PDB) does not have SPFILE ,these scripts will not work on Pluggable Databases (PDB), doe sit mean that the RCU schemas and EPM Repository schemas need to be installed on different databases?
