Planning: Business Rule's Run Time Prompt (RTP) Is Incorrect While Submitting Data From Smart View Before Logging Into The Application
(Doc ID 2737038.1)
Last updated on SEPTEMBER 17, 2024
Applies to:
Hyperion Planning - Version 11.1.2.3.500 to 11.1.2.4.009 [Release 11.1]Information in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
When opening a data form using Smart View and submitting data, it triggers a rule which is attached to the form. As expected the rule picks the members being used in the form and the calculation runs fine.
However after disconnecting from Smart View, the form is still open, and change the value, hit submit, it asks for Smart view credentials. Once provided Smart view tries to submit the value directly. However the RTP does not pick the members being used in the form and instead takes the root member (dimension name) for all the Run Time Prompts (RTP's) and the calculation for the rule is now wrong.
This does not happen when the users connect to the Smart View first, refresh the data and then submit the data.
Even though it seems to be working as designed where you need to be connected first, when the users just leave the data form in Smart view opened for a long time and Smart view times out after sometime. Smart view does not give a message that there has been a timeout and the users need to re-connect again. So when users submit value again not knowing the timeout, Smart view asks for credentials and the issue happens as described above.
