Applies to:

Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Your infrastructure team may have blocked Oracle Notification Services (ONS) communication (default port 6200) via a firewall to the RAC database due to an issue with ONS not releasing socket connections as observed by the command: netstat -an | grep 6200

The build-up of connection causes the obis1 (obisN) server process to be stopped and started periodically to clear the connection backlog.

What are the steps to perform on the Oracle Business Intelligence (OBIEE) or Oracle Analytics Server (OAS) to disable ONS FAN events communications from the client Oracle Call Interface (OCI) database client?
