Drilling Into Data From A Dashboard Using Action Link Does Not Pass Variable To Second Analysis
(Doc ID 2767472.1)
Last updated on APRIL 22, 2021
Applies to:
Business Intelligence Suite Enterprise Edition - Version 12.2.1.4.0 to 12.2.1.4.0 [Release 12g]Information in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
When navigating dashboards, drilling into data from one analysis to another analysis using an actin link is failing. In cases where a user navigates to a dashboard using a variable from one analysis and clicks an action link to drill into data, the variable is not passed. The second report does not take into account the variable from the column from which the drill starts and resulting data is not as expected.
For example:
=====================
Report1 uses dashboard prompts as input and sets presentation variable.
Report1 passes input via action link to Report2 to drill into the data (filtered by presentation variable).
In older versions of BI this worked fine, the variable filter gets passed and user sees expected data in the Report2.
