Open Catalog in Online Mode in the OAS Catalog Manager Throws the Error: Client received SOAP Fault from server. Account not found. (Doc ID 2806965.1)

Launch the Catalog Manager > Go to File - Open Catalog > Specify the following:

Type:        Online
URL:         http://<host>:<port>/analytics-ws/saw.dll
User:        weblogic
Password: <password>

On clicking OK, the following error is thrown:

Multiple problems have occurred
Client received SOAP Fault from server: Account not found. Please see the server log to find more detail regarding exact cause of the failure.
An error has occurred. See error log for more details.

The environment is configured with a Security / Authentication Provider for MS Active Directory, and an AD user (belonging to the BI Service Administrator application role) can connect successfully, however the above issue is encountered for the weblogic administrator user (who also belongs to the BI Service Administrator application role).
