Purpose
This document provides additional information regarding the mitigation steps mentioned in (Doc ID 2827793.1) to alleviate the impact associated with CVE-2021-44228 / CVE-2021-45046 on Oracle Essbase.

Scope
Applies to Essbase on-premises 21c and Essbase on Marketplace 21c and Essbase on Marketplace 19.3.0.5.
Note:
Note: Essbase/APS/EAS 11.1.2.4 does not include log4j-core libraries. Underling platforms EPM/BI 11.1.2.4 may include log4j-core 1.x libraries, it is not impacted by CVE-2021-44228 / CVE-2021-45046.
Apache reported that CVE-2021-44228 / CVE-2021-45046 mitigation applies to Log4j v2 prior to 2.16.0, including 2.15, and does not apply to Log4j versions 1.x.
