Case Sensitivity Issue With Migrated OBI 11g Catalog Group Membership In OBI 12c (Doc ID 2862911.1)

Last updated on JUNE 18, 2023

Applies to:

Business Intelligence Server Enterprise Edition - Version 12.2.1.4.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Customer has Catalog groups in OBI 11g and the users from AD are assigned to catalog group. This works ok if the user logs in using upper or lower case user id.

The catalog group shows up in the My Account > Roles and Catalog groups.

The permissions and privileges of the catalog group is available to the user who is assigned to it.

But once the data is migrated to OBI 12c, catalog groups are converted to application roles. The role assignment does not work if the user is logged in with a different case other than the Account value of the user account in the Active Directory.

Principal case sensitivity and Use retrieved user name as principal is checked. This does not make any difference.
