A Column With COUNT DISTINCT In The Formula Has An Incorrect Grand Total Value After Migrating From OBIEE to Oracle Analytics Server (Doc ID 2881334.1)

Last updated on JANUARY 04, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Analytics Server - Version 5.9.0.0.211223 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

See an Analysis with the following configuration:

1. A column with a custom formula with the COUNT DISTINCT function.
For example: Criteria tab > {column} > Column Formula: COUNT(DISTINCT {column1} BY {column2}) ... Aggregation Rule (Totals Row): Default

2. A Table view with a Grand Total enabled, and the default Aggregation Rule on the column.
For example: Results tab > Edit Table view > Columns and Measures > Totals: [x] After ... {column} > Aggregation Rule: [x] Default , [x] Report-Based Total (when applicable)

In OBIEE 12c, the Grand Total for the column is correct. For example, see a value of 20 in the results.

After migrating to OAS, the Grand Total for the column is incorrect. For example, see a value of 1 in the results.
