(Doc ID 2891043.1)
Last updated on JANUARY 24, 2024
Applies to:
Business Intelligence Server Enterprise Edition - Version 12.2.1.4.0 to 12.2.1.4.0 [Release 12g]Information in this document applies to any platform.
Goal
In OBIEE 12c (12.2.1.4), users are authenticated using an Active Directory (AD) LDAP and users are authorized using groups in an Oracle Database. For reference, see: Configuring LDAP as the Authentication Provider and Storing Groups in a Database
An OBIEE Agent is configured with an Application Role as the Recipient where a Database Group is a member of the Application Role and AD users are members of the Database Group.
For the AD users to successfully receive the Agent's deliverable (for example, an email or an alert in the OBIEE home page), <Patch 32262493> - UNABLE TO GET USERS FROM ACTIVE DIRECTORY FROM GROUP RELATION KEPT IN BISQLGROUP PROVIDER is required.
For OBIEE 12.2.1.4, apply Release 12.2.1.3 of the Patch.
This document provides the additional configuration required when <Patch 32262493> is applied in OBIEE 12c. The expectation is that all configurations related to the LDAP and BISQLGroupProvider authentication providers are already completed, and LDAP users are successfully authenticated and authorized in OBIEE 12c.
