Essbase: LDAP Users Unable to Login to Essbase with an SSL Enabled LDAP Provider (Doc ID 2915995.1)

Symptoms

SSL enabled LDAP users are unable to login to Essbase. Expanding on the Essbase Server node in the EAS Console gives the error:

1051742 Essbase user authentication by token failed against Shared Services EPMCAA-00333. Failed to authenticate user. Invalid credentials.

Below error messages were recorded after enabling debug/trace level logging:

Essbase.log:
Exception in thread "Thread-21" EPMCSS-00316: Failed to authenticate user <username> from user directory <LDAPServer>. Error executing query. simple bind failed: <LDAPServer>:<Port>. Enter valid credentials.

Shared Services Security Client log:
EPMCSS-07047: CACHE operation failed. Error executing query. RootCause : simple bind failed: <LDAPServer>:<Port>. Verify user directory configuration.

Native users are able to login.
