Dimension Build Fails, Dimbuild.err File Shows Error "Level 0 virtual member (member_name) must have a formula associated with it." (Doc ID 2959159.1)

Running a dimension build using a rules file is failing using MaxL. The application log shows the following errors:

Dimension build failed. Error code [1060053]. Check the server log file and the dimension build error file for possible additional info.

The dimbuild.err file has the error:

Level 0 virtual member (member_name) must have a formula associated with it.
