"Authentication Required" Error Is Returned On Login To Oracle Analytics Server DV With Oracle Access Manager SSO (Doc ID 2960863.1)

Symptoms

An Oracle Analytics Server (OAS) Enterprise Deployment is configured for Single-Sign On (SSO) using Oracle Access Manager (OAM) 12c and Oracle HTTP Server (OHS) 12c Webgate as per the Enterprise Deployment Guide.

OAM is updated to add the end-points / URLs to be protected with SSO (Protected Resources), including /dv and /biinfer as documented.

Users can successfully login to /analytics and /dv using SSO. 

However, shortly after a user logs in to /dv or logs in to /analytics and then navigates to /dv, a pop-up window appears with the error "Authentication Required. Your session has timed out or re-authentication is required to continue. ... Please click here to login again. ... After logging in, this dialog will close automatically and work may continue. ...".  If the user clicks on the link in the error to login again, the window closes but then re-appears within a short time. 

When this issue is encountered, it is observed that the circular "user" / "profile" icon at the top right is empty (that is, the initial of the user's name is not displayed), and a "401 Unauthorized" error is observed in the web browser Developer Tools > Network page for the below URLs:

           https://<...>/biinfer/api/v1/user/profile?keys=userPicture&keys=firstName&keys=lastName&keys=displayName

           https://<...>/biinfer/api/v1/activities
