Symptoms

Steps for "Integrate WebLogic to Use Microsoft Active Directory" was followed, including using REST API/cur to to assign Essbase service administrator role to a federated user.

MSAD users can be seen in Weblogic console, but Groups cannot. An error is displayed in Weblogic console when attempting to access Groups under Users and Groups:
An unexpected exception has occurred processing your request.

Users and groups are not visible in Essbase when attempting to assign permissions.

Following error is found in AdminServer.log
