After Migrating To Oracle Analytics Server, Opening An Analysis Returns The Error: Path Not Found. Check The Input Path Entered. Error Codes: U9KP7Q94 (Doc ID 3041804.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 19, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Analytics Server - Version 2024 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

An "out-of-place" migration was done using Snapshots / BAR files from Oracle Analytics Server 6.4 to Oracle Analytics Server 2024.

On trying to open / run a migrated analysis, some - not all - would fail with the below error:

Path not found - Check the input path entered.
Error Details
Error Codes: U9KP7Q94

On further investigation, it was identified that all the affected analyses have a trailing space in their name.  For example:

Navigate to the analysis in the Catalog UI and click Rename; a space can be seen at the end of the analysis' name.

In the OBIPS sawlog log file, the trailing space can also be observed.:

[OBIPS] [TRACE:1] [] [saw.catalog.serviceinstance.readObject] ... Path not found - Check the input path entered.[[
File:serviceinstancecatalog.cpp
Line:1302
Location:
saw.catalog.serviceinstance.readObject
...
HttpArgs: path='/shared/MyCustomFolder/MyAnalysisWithATrailingSpace ',Action='prompt'
HttpCommand: PortalGo
...
]]

Additional symptoms encountered in the Catalog UI with an Analysis with a trailing space, include:

For example: In /analytics > Click Catalog > Navigate to the Folder containing the analysis and see it listed > Open / Run the Analysis and get the "Path not found" error > Click the browser back button and now see the Analysis is no longer listed under the Folder.

For example: In /analytics > Click Catalog > Navigate to the analysis > Click Rename > Remove the trailing space > Click OK to save the analysis and get the message "Item already exists in catalog".

Note:  In the Oracle Analytics Server 6.4 environment, the same analysis with the trailing space in its name can be successfully opened / run, renamed etc. without error.
