Symptoms

When trying to use ESSCMD in Essbase 21c, most commands, i.e. DIMBUILD, fail with the error number 1054036. This error number translates to:

The [%s] is a Unicode-mode application. Non-Unicode clients (that includes all clients in pre 7.0 releases of Essbase) are not allowed to access Unicode mode applications.
