How To Create A Simple SSO Test For Diagnosing Discoverer 10g / 11g SSO Issues

The purpose of this document is to explain and demonstrate steps to setup a simple SSO test. This test is useful if Discoverer is SSO enabled and having problems directing to the Discoverer connection page after entering your SSO credentials. The symptoms of the problem could include 'Page Not Found', redirection to an unexpected server, redirection from one protocol to another (i.e - HTTPs to HTTP).
For Discoverer Plus / Viewer, we simply either protect or unprotect the URL in mod_osso.conf If the same error or behaviour occurs with the simple SSO test, then the issue likely resides the SSO server registration. This will assist in determining the most appropriate Oracle Support team to assist with the issue. If the SSO Server registration is incorrect or redirecting to a site that you did not intend, then that will need to be addressed with the SSO Server configuration team.
