Symptoms
You have set up an OBIEE environment and have successfully configured a cluster on two Linux servers: Machine1 and Machine2.
All components of the cluster are working fine in Cluster Manager utility of Admin Tool.
Machine1 hosts:
1 BI server (Master)
1 BI Presentation Service server and Java host
1 Scheduler Server
Cluster Controller (Primary)
Machine2 hosts
1 BI server
1 BI Presentation Service server and Java host
1 Scheduler Server
Cluster Controller
The machines have a common web catalog, web instanceconfig.xml, credentialstore.xml and instanceconfig.xml for scheduler.
These are all hosted under /orabidata directory on shared NFS drive shared by services on both Machine1 and Machine2.
When trying to create and save an iBot, the following error message appears:
[nQSError: 12008] Unable to connect to port <portnumber> on machine ccsPrimary="Machine1" ccsPrimaryPort="<portnumber>" ccsSecondary="Machine2" ccsSecondaryPort="<portnumber>".
[nQSError: 46131] Unresolved host name: ccsPrimary="Machine1" ccsPrimaryPort="<portnumber>" ccsSecondary="Machine2" ccsSecondaryPort="<portnumber>". Could not get details about the specified host
