Symptoms

When running various Discoverer 10.1.2 commands on a Linux server, some variation of the following error may occur:

Error while loading shared libraries: libpthread.so.0: cannot open shared object file:


For Example

Running applypreferences.sh script on RedHat Linux 5.1, fails with the following error message:

Error while loading shared libraries: libpthread.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory


Running Discoverer EULAPI to create an Oracle Applications 12i EUL with command like:

$ORACLE_HOME/bin/eulapi -CREATE_EUL -APPS_MODE \
-CONNECT system/manager@dev1 -USER EUL_US -PASSWORD EUL_US \
-DEFAULT_TABLESPACE discoverer -TEMPORARY_TABLESPACE temp \
-EUL_LANGUAGE US - APPS_GRANT_DETAIL apps/apps


Fails with error:

/u01/oracle/discoverer/jdk/bin/java: error while loading shared libraries: libpthread.so.0: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS64
