Goal

Is it possible to update a dimension in Hyperion Planning via an Import Profile which uses the 'Merge' option and not have child members that have moved to a different parent appear with a storage type of 'Shared Member'?

For example, a dimension Product, has the following hierarchy:

TOTALPRODUCT
  ExistingLine
    Line1
    Line2
    Line3
  NewLine
    Line4
    Line5

The following year, new lines are added and the hierarchy should look like this:

TOTALPRODUCT
  ExistingLine
    Line1
    Line2
    Line3
    Line4
    Line5
  NewLine
    Line6

However if the dimension is rebuilt with the Merge Option the hierarchy becomes:

TOTALPRODUCT
  ExistingLine
    Line1
    Line2
    Line3
    Line4 (Shared)
    Line5 (Shared)
  NewLine
    Line4
    Line5
    Line6

Using the 'Replace' option when updating the dimension via an Import Profile achieves the desired goal and child members are correctly moved under the new parent, but when using the 'Replace' option the plan type association and the performance settings (dense/ sparse) of the dimension are lost and need to be reset.
