After upgrading any Discoverer Desktop 10.1.2 version prior to version 10.1.2.55.26 (Patch 10.1.2.3), certain workbooks are failing to open.
When an attempt is made to open the workbook, a Windows exception/GPF type error occurs and
Discoverer Desktop shuts down with the following message:
"Oracle Discoverer Desktop has encountered a problem and needs to close.
We are sorry for the inconvenience...."
These same workbooks can be opened in Discoverer Plus or Viewer without error.
These workbooks also opened without error/problem when the Discoverer Desktop version
Other symptoms or errors that may be encountered are:
"An error occurred while attempting to perform the operation. The operation did
not complete successfully."
Crash or windows exception error
Applied/Installed Patch 10.1.2.3, <Patch 5983622>.
