Goal
This note describes steps on how to increase Discoverer Plus and Viewer performance.
Before going through this note please make sure that your workbook and database design is proper.
Discoverer performance depends on your workbook design, machine resources, number of users, etc. Poorly designed workbooks can still fail due to lack of resources even on client machines that appear to have adequate resources.
Discoverer performance is largely determined by how well the database has been designed and tuned for queries.
A well-designed database will perform significantly better than a poorly designed database.
Workbook design can also affect query performance.
NOTE: Connection and export issues on Discoverer are not dealt with in this note.
