How To Change Or Associate The SSO Server With Your Discoverer 11g (11.1.x) Environment (Doc ID 961696.1)

This document is to guide Fusion Middleware 11g Discoverer administrators who need to associate an OID/SSO environment with Discoverer after the initial installation.

If OID/LDAP details are provided during the installation or while configuring Discoverer, then you are prompted to provide the OID/SSO details the Discoverer middle-tier is associated.

The Discoverer application can be accessed from one of these ports:

It is always recommended that Discoverer be accessed from the outer most web-tier component (WebCache is the outer-most and WLS_DISCO is the inner-most). When you want to protect Discoverer URLs, you should protect the outermost component. This is what occurs if you associate during installation or running the configuration wizard (

Note:  Fusion Middleware 11g release does not have a Single Sign-On (SSO) component; therefore, Oracle Single Sign-On 10g ( has to be installed in a separate Oracle Home or machine with Oracle Internet Directory 11g (documented here) or as part of Identity Management 10g ( ).     The context of this note assumes using Discoverer in a standalone method. If you are using Discoverer with an E-Business Suite integrated SSO environment, then follow the requirements dictated by E-Business Suite (i.e. - you cannot use Infrastructure in that environment).
