How to configure and run the Event Driver Sample application with Tools Release 8.9x

Goal

This document shows how to configure and run the Event Driver Sample application in conjunction with runniing E1 with Tools Release 8.98x. This sample is delivered as part of the E1 installation and shows an application of the Dynamic Java Connector designed to subscribe to Real Time Events. This sample can be used to validate a RTE Server configuration in the context of a JAVACONN subscriber.

Note: This document only applies to JAVACONN transport types. Oracle does not provide a similar sample for JMSQUEUE Transport Type events (there are no plans to provide a sample Event Driver for JMSQUEUE/JMSTOPIC. See Enhancement BUG 14115055). Some open source tools like HermesJMS are available on the net (http://www.hermesjms.com/confluence/display/HJMS/Home) which they can be used to browse through messages queues and view the the messages contained in these queues.
