Goal

In this case here, this customer is upgrading from EnterpriseOne 8.10 to 9.0 application release level, and using SQL/2008 for the database. They noticed that the collation sequence default has changed from (8.10) SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS to (9.0) Latin1_General_CI_AS_WS.
Since the upgrade is an in-place process, they will be left with the Business Data and Control Tables on the old collation and the System and Central Objects on the new collation.

Questions:

Is there any reason to attempt to migrate the converted data in Business Data and Control Tables to the new collation? If the recommended Oracle Upgrade Process uses the existing (previous) database, which is in the old collation and is not changed by the upgrade, then what is the recommended Oracle process to get the upgraded database into the new 9.0 collation, and why is that not mentioned in the upgrade guide.
