Last updated on SEPTEMBER 03, 2024

Applies to:

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Tools - Version 8.98 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Customer is using 8.98.0.5, when trying to restart their transaction server for weekly maintenance the transaction server would not start up. They even shutdown all OPMN services and restarted, and this didn't work either. From Server Manager on startup, they see the following error: "Exception invoking method startApplication:Failed at "Could not get DeploymentManager". This is typically the result of an invalid deployer URI format being supplied, the target server not being in a started state or incorrect authentication details being supplied. More information is available by enabling logging--please see the Oracle Containers for J2EE Configuration and Administration Guide for details. "Failure during invoke:invoke(, ,start)javax.management.MBeanException : Exception invoking method startApplication""

This issue might also occur for any J2EE based servers such as business services or JAS servers.
