- Deployment Server support for Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2
- Administrative Client support for Microsoft Windows 7
Purpose
With the certification of these new OS releases with EnterpriseOne beginning with Tools Release 8.98.4.2, the MTRs for the local database have changed for the Deployment Server, webdev clients and administrative workstations. Please reference the MTR information for "JDE Local Database" updates related to this maintenance pack release: <Document 705404.1>.
The supported releases for the local databases are:
- Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Service Pack 3 (SSE)
- Oracle Database 11g R2 Enterprise Edition (OEE), both 32 bit and 64 bit
Instructions are needed for updating the local database for new installations and also for updating the local database release level on existing installations. This document provides instructions for the following scenarios:
- Scenario 1: New installations or upgrades where the Deployment Server will be installed with Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 and/or webdev or administrative clients will be installed with Windows 7 the SSE or OEE local database will require a release upgrade of the local database and a minimum Tools Release level of 8.98.4.2.
- Scenario 2: Existing installations where the Deployment Server has SSE or OEE as the local database, switching to new hardware with OS Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 will require a release upgrade of the local database as well as updating the Tools Release to 8.98.4.2 or higher.
- Scenario 3: Existing installations where the Deployment Server has SSE or OEE as the local database, upgrading the OS to Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 on existing hardware will require a release upgrade of the local database as well as updating the Tools Release to 8.98.4.2 or higher.
- Scenario 4: Updating webdev clients or administrative workstations to Windows 7 will require a release upgrade of the local database for the workstations as well as updating the Tools Release to 8.98.4.2 or higher.
