E1: PKG: TR: How To Update System With a POC Provided By EnterpriseOne Global Support (Doc ID 1325649.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 14, 2017

Applies to:

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Tools - Version SP24 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

On occasion, EnterpriseOne customers may receive a POC (code change) from Support/Development for their System Tools Release. This document provides steps to update the Tools Release files for client workstations so that subsequent packages will include the POC files as well and not revert back to the 'standard' Tools Release files.

These instructions assume that the POC has already been tested and accepted and is desired for subsequent workstation installations that include the system foundation files.

Update System with a POC DLL

If a DLL is provided by Development for system foundation that needs to be updated for client installs, then the SystemComp files on the Deployment Server need to be updated so that all new foundation installs on workstations will include the updated DLL.

When you install system foundation on a client machine, the package installation process uses the compressed (cab) files from the SystemComp folder on the Deployment Server. So, to update the files that are installed on the workstations, it is necessary to update files on the Deployment Server first and then deploy the changes out to the machines where they are needed.
