E1: SEC: How To Disable or Inactivate a User ID? (Doc ID 1329379.1)

Last updated on MAY 17, 2023

Applies to:

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Tools - Version 8.98 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

These steps are guidelines how to disable an EnterpriseOne User ID.

It is up to each client site, as to whether they wish to retain the USERID Data item, by simply disabling it, or, disabling and then deleting the item, as each client site will have differing retention rules.

Deleting a user ID would involve removing records from several different apps, including, but not limited to: P0092 (User Profiles), P98OWSEC (User Security), P00950 (Security Workbench), P95921 (Role Relationships), P91300 (Scheduler), projects/objects in OMW (which may need to be reassigned to another user), and workflow and workcenter setups.

We have no official or comprehensive document on how to clean up a user ID for someone who has resigned and removing the UserID record from EnterpriseOne.

This list may not be exhaustive.

But, unless you have some compelling reason for needing to delete a user ID from E1, we would generally recommend simply disabling the user ID in P98OWSEC.
