Purpose

 This document offers an overview and setup of Quality Management in JD Edwards EnterpriseOne.

Quality Management Overview

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Quality Management can be used to provide an integrated, flexible, solution to collect, verify and manage the data that needs to meet internal quality standards and support customer requirements.  The JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Quality Management system helps record and manage data that relates to the material quality of the products.

Why use Quality Management ?

The system can be customized to meet the specific testing needs of the business by:

During the business cycle, samples are collected and quality tests are performed.  Use the Quality Management system to enter and review the test results for an item.

Verify whether material that is produced or purchased meets the specifications at different points in the business flow, such as the purchasing receipts, sales order entry  and work order cycles.  Print test results and reports to help make decisions and take corrective action, if necessary.

Some of the benefits are:

Reduce the costs of rework , returns and scrap and labor costs by minimizing the time spent inspecting material, collecting data, and reworking or repairing defective material.  Increase customer satisfaction by improving overall product quality.

Note: Test results are not required when using JD Edwards manufacturing applications.  The Quality module can be built into typical business processes.

Users of Shop Floor Control, Planning, Supply Chain, Blend and Inventory Management applications will benefit from the information in this document.
