Blank rows of data are inserted in the BI Publisher report when the XML tag against which the for-each loop is defined is an empty tag.

To illustrate the problem take this sample XML source:

Note that in its second occurrence the tag <Fruit> is empty.

Now say you define a RTF template that will loop through each <Fruit> and print a table showing the fruit name and its corresponding number:

This is what the BI Publisher output will look like:

Because the second occurrence of <Fruit> is empty the loop will be executed but no values will be printed.
