E1: JAS: JAS/Web Server Runs Out of JDBC Connections to the Database in Tools Release 9.1.0.x (Doc ID 1488975.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 01, 2019

Applies to:

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Tools - Version 9.1 to 9.1 [Release 9.1]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

On Tools Release 9.1 new JDBC connections are being opened to the system datasource instead of connections used from a pool until connections are maximized and E1 begins to slow down.  Eventually E1 can run out of connections if there are more users (logging in), more transactions, etc. occuring on the system.

Web sessions in EnterpriseOne become unresponsive.  In the E1ROOT_xxx.LOG (located in JDE_HOME/***/logs) of the JAS/Web server it shows the following message:

JDBMAXPOOLSIZEEXCEPTION
13 Aug 2012 08:47:43,707 [SEVERE] - [BASE] com.jdedwards.database.impl.physical.JDBMaxPoolSizeException: [DATABASE_CONNECT_FAILED] Database Connection failed for DataSource System - 900.
