Symptoms

Following a deployment server upgrade that included an upgrade from MSDE to SSE as a local database, when attempting to Download & Deploy an ESU via Change Assistant, get an error in the ChangeAssistantLog.txt:

Setting PreferenceModel JDBC Drivers path E:\PeopleSoft\E811\misc
com.peoplesoft.deployment.framework.database.DatabaseException: RegistryException: Failed to open the key.
The system cannot find the file specified.

Error in Deployment
Failed to complete pre-deployment setup.
DatabaseException: com.peoplesoft.deployment.framework.database.DatabaseException: RegistryException: Failed to open the key.
The system cannot find the file specified.

Verified that the JDBC drivers were correct, as well as jdbj.ini and jas.ini were properly configured.

HTMLWebServer was correctly configured in the Registry under Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\JDEdwards as well as Values for Keys JDBCDrivers and WebInfDir.

Changes

 Differences in old/new Deployment servers:

    •         Windows 2003 Enterprise Edition SP2 32bit -> Windows 2008 R2 SP1 64bit
    •         MSDE 8.00.194 -> SSE SQL 2005 SP3
    •         EnterpriseOne Local on SQL Server(2000.86.3959.00) ODBC driver -> EnterpriseOne  SSELocal on SQL Native Client(2005.90.5000.00)
